As a cinematographer and producer, Gabe has documented the Baltimore Uprising and the Black Lives Matter movement for the last two years in his hometown of Baltimore. In October 2015, Gabe began helping film a feature documentary for HBO called Baltimore Rising about Baltimore after Freddie Gray. He also recently contributed as a camera op on The Keepers, a Netflix docuseries that explores the unsolved murder of the nun Sister Cathy Cesnik who taught English and drama at Archbishop Keough High School in Baltimore, MD. In 2013, Gabe co-directed and shot a feature documentary titled Pyne Poynt about a little league coached by ex-convicts in Camden, NJ, America's most dangerous and poorest city.
Whether it’s exploring the jungles of Costa Rica, a township in South Africa, or documenting a protest on the streets of Baltimore, Gabe is a dedicated storyteller who enjoys capturing the human connection wherever he goes.
During the Baltimore Uprising, Gabe produced video stories for The New York Times, The Guardian, Esquire, and other outlets. Gabe quickly became trained in run and gun documentary style cinematography while working on Baltimore Rising.
